Now, Hill is certain that when Mahomes calls it a career, he will be the greatest player in the history of the sport. And to be honest, he’s certainly making the case through nearly four seasons in the league.

Patrick Mahomes is cementing his legacy early

Drafted 10th overall out of Texas Tech, the Kansas City Chiefs had no idea what Mahomes’ potential could be. Lucky for him and Chiefs fans, Andy Reid has a knack of bringing the best out of his players.

Mahomes has already thrown for 13,227 career passing yards and 107 touchdowns against 20 interceptions since 2017. In his first full season as the team’s starter, he led the league in passing touchdowns with 50 while eventually being named the MVP of the 2018 campaign.

A year later, Mahomes brought glory back to Arrowhead by helping Kansas City win its first Super Bowl title since 1969. Currently, the Chiefs look to be on pace for a second title, boasting an 11-1 record entering the final month of action.

Tom Brady is considered the G.O.A.T. for good reason due to his six Super Bowl victories. Mahomes, who turned 25 this September, might be a third of the way there following the 2020 season thanks to the league’s best offense.

Brady was an afterthought after being drafted 199th in 2000. Mahomes, though a first-rounder, certainly will be another breakout star on his way to eternal mortality in the NFL.
