Nick Sirianni’s Eagles head coach interview was hilariously casual

Nick Sirianni wasn’t expecting an Eagles head coaching interview, but it worked out anyway.

You can’t blame Sirianni for not bringing a suit on vacation, even though he was a popular head coaching candidate at the time. Yet, the Eagles were such a great fit for Sirianni’s services that it didn’t matter in the slightest.

Per Jeff Skversky of ABC Philadelphia, “Nick Sirianni was on vacation earlier this week when the Eagles called for an interview and Sirianni did not have a suit with him. Sirianni wore casual clothes he had with him and Eagles management did the same to make him comfortable.”

Sirianni won the Eagles over, business casual or not, and will try to right the ship in Philadelphia after a 4-11-1 2020 campaign.

Sirianni was hired to improve the Eagles in all departments, especially QB play

Sirianni is a young football mind from the Frank Reich coaching tree. Reich, a former Eagles offensive coordinator turned Colts head coach, found success with quarterback Carson Wentz in Philadelphia. Once Reich left, Wentz struggled, and hasn’t lived up to his massive price tag ever since. If anyone can turn Wentz’s career around to the point his huge $128 million deal doesn’t look like an albatross, one would think it’s Sirianni.

Getting Wentz off their books doesn’t appear to be in the Eagles short-term plans, despite the success of rookie Jalen Hurts towards the end of last season. Wentz was a long-term investment, and thus the Eagles are doing everything in their power to make him successful. Quarterback play is everything in the modern NFL, and if Wentz can get back to an MVP level of play, the Eagles will vastly improve with him.

Sirianni has a lot on his hands, but the roster also has plenty of potential.
