Seahawks: Russell Wilson’s backup being investigated for St. Patrick’s Day bar fight

Per TMZ Sports, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Alex McGough allegedly punched a man in the face at a bar in Tampa, Fla. earlier this week.

What is it with the Seattle Seahawks and their quarterback drama this offseason? While everyone knows about Russell Wilson and his issues with the front office, backup Alex McGough is in the news this week but for all the wrong reasons.

According to TMZ sports, the Seattle signal-caller is being investigated by police in Tampa, Fla. after he allegedly punched a man in the face at a bar on St. Patrick’s Day. Unbelievable.

According to TMZ, the victim claims that McGough got into his face after accusing him of hitting on his girlfriend at the bar. Things escalated, turned violent, and McGough, per the victim, then delivered him with a punch straight to the kisser.

Per TMZ, the man is 24-year-old Anthony Albino. Albino told the outlet that he suffered a bloody nose and a minor injury to his elbow. He’s decided that he’s going to press charges against the Seattle quarterback as well.

McGough was a seventh-round pick out of FIU in the 2018 NFL Draft. In January, Seattle had brought McGough back on a futures contract. Now, a little over two months later, the young quarterback is in some trouble with the law on the other side of the country. It goes without saying, but you better believe Pete Carroll and John Schneider aren’t happy one bit with the latest news on their player.

While the Wilson news has given fans plenty of headaches over the last month, this McGough fight surely has many scratching their heads as well.
