Washington Football Team quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is one of the most likable guys in the NFL. He’s a solid QB with an impossible to hate personality. Fitzpatrick is a bit of a Jekkyl and Hyde quarterback, as he can either be really great or really bad, and there’s not too much middle ground. This is what makes him one of the most fascinating and likable players in the NFL.
He also has a lot in common with your average everyday guy. Fitzpatrick isn’t too different from his fans and he proved this in a recent interview with NFL reporter Ross Tucker. There are plenty of classic quotes from Fitzpatrick, but his story about proposing to his wife is without question the best part of the interview.

The Washington Football Team better be ready for Ryan Fitzpatrick magic – or tragic
There are two versions of Fitzpatrick. The first is known as “Fitzmagic”. This is the Ryan Fitzpatrick who will throw for over 300 yards and 3 TDs. Most recently, Fitzpatrick showed his magic last season with the Miami Dolphins.
In seven games with the Dolphins, “Fitzmagic” showed up more often than his alter ego “Fitztragic”, as he threw for 13 TDs and led the Dolphins to a 4-3 record. He threw just two interceptions combined in those four wins. Fitzpatrick was benched in favor of rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa after Week 6 despite having led the Dolphins to consecutive wins over the 49ers and Jets in Weeks 4 and 5.
But then there’s “Fitztragic”. Fitzpatrick is a bit of a gunslinger and has never been shy of taking risks. When he’s performing well, that’s great! But it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what happens when he’s not playing well – tons of interceptions.
At 38 years young, the Washington Football Team are hoping the Harvard graduate will provide healthy competition for Taylor Heinicke, who performed surprisingly well for Washington in the postseason against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, throwing for 306 yards with one touchdown and one interception to go along with 46 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.
Fitzpatrick is a very capable backup who Washington can turn to if Henicke struggles. At the very least, he’ll keep the bench warm for whoever Washington’s next quarterback is. Though Fitzpatrick has never made the postseason in his career, with the NFC East looking fairly weak, he might finally make a postseason appearance with Washington.
