Welp, this Amari Cooper injury news isn’t great news for Cowboys fans

The Dallas Cowboys may need to prepare for training camp without Amari Cooper.

Even with the Dallas Cowboys playing in this year’s Hall of Fame Game, don’t expect wide receiver Amari Cooper to be ready in time for training camp.

According to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network, Cooper is dealing with a nagging ankle injury he suffered a few weeks ago. He has not run in two weeks and is not expected to run for an additional two or three. This means Cooper will not be ready to go once training camp starts.

Dallas Cowboys fans may not like the latest injury news on WR Amari Cooper

While not having Cooper readily available once training camp starts stinks, it is not like Dallas is devoid of talent in the receiving corps. The Cowboys still have Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb available to catch passes from quarterback Dak Prescott, who is on the mend as well after sustaining a season-ending ankle injury midway through last season. Dallas should be all right.

As far as what 2021 has to be for it to be a successful season in Dallas, the Cowboys have no choice but to make the playoffs.

They will almost certainly have to do so as the winner of the NFC East. Dallas is the most talented team in its division but does have a knack for underachieving. If Dallas misses the playoffs, owner Jerry Jones may fire head coach Mike McCarthy after two years.

As long as Cooper can be ready to go by Week 1, Dallas should be in good shape to begin this fall.
