ESPN insider give latest news on Aaron Rodgers trade market

The latest news on Aaron Rodgers and a potential trade is bad news for teams hoping to strike a deal in the near future.

One of the biggest offseason storylines in the NFL continues to drag on with no end in sight.

Aaron Rodgers culminating a decade of feeling like the Packers were holding him back by requesting a trade in April rocked the league. But it appears that whatever waves that request only created rocky waters in Green Bay and didn’t have much of an effect on the rest of the league.

There was no seismic shift in power, and no daisy chain reaction of follow up moves created by a Rodgers trade. Instead, the quarterback is holding out of Packers training camp and refuse to return to his post, creating nothing more than drama in Dairyland.

All of the petty cheap shots fired by either side during this Cold War hasn’t even drummed up a trade market for Rodgers.

Latest News on Aaron Rodgers: Where is Aaron Rodgers going?

The latest news on Aaron Rodgers is that he’s going nowhere any time soon, apparently. Which is to say, it’s more of the same.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler was on Get Up  on Friday morning and gave an update on what he’s hearing about the Aaron Rodgers trade market.

“Now, I talked to a source who said, ‘look, he’s the most competitive person in the world, opting out and killing his season right now on July 2 would be difficult for him to do.’ Greeny, I’ve also checked in with multiple teams around the league who are monitoring the Aaron Rodgers trade situation. They said there is no trade market for Rodgers right now.”

This feels in line with both logic and what has been floating around ever since April. The Packers reportedly could have traded for the No. 3 overall pick in this year’s draft and refused to make a deal, which was an early indication of how uninterested the team was in moving Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers to Broncos rumors heat up amid ownership shakeup

The most talked about landing spot in a potential trade has been Aaron Rodgers to Broncos rumors. With a massive question mark at quarterback, but a defense talented enough to make another Super Bowl run, the Broncos have been tied to Rodgers ever since he requested a trade on Draft night.

But like Fowler reported, the trade market has been ice cold. Denver could be a motivated buyer beyond the obvious football reasons for making a deal.

As Predominantly Orange pointed out this week, the Broncos trading for Rodgers and being a Super Bowl contending team would significantly increase the value of the franchise — one that could soon be up for sale.

But as Fowler noted, and many others did back in April, the Packers are dug in and refusing to buckle to the demands of Rodgers. Either he shows up and they re-approach this bridge in the 2022 offseason, or he doesn’t return and the Packers move on with first-round pick Jordan Love under center.

Either way, it sounds like the Aaron Rodgers-Packers Cold War isn’t ending any time soon.
