Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase show off their LSU connection on Bengals practice field

LSU fans are all too familiar with that seamless connection between quarterback and wideout.

Everyone will remember the historic 2019 season that took place down in Baton Rouge, where the Tigers went undefeated and handedly defeated Trevor Lawrence and Clemson to win the CFP National Championship. Burrow threw for 5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 76.3-percent of his passes, leading him to a Heisman Trophy victory. As for Chase, he caught 84 passes for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns that year.

Burrow was the first-overall selection by the Bengals in the 2020 NFL Draft to be the savior of the franchise. Things looked to be going well in his rookie season, but he suffered a torn ACL back in Week 11 against the Washington Football Team. As a rookie, Burrow completed 65.3-percent of his passes for 2,688 yards, 13 touchdowns and five interceptions, while rushing for 142 yards and three touchdowns on 37 carries.

While many thought that the Bengals should select an offensive tackle in the first-round of this year’s NFL Draft, the team did have a void at wide receiver after losing A.J. Green to free agency. So, the Bengals decided to give Burrow his No. 1 receiver from LSU in Chase with the fifth-overall pick.

The potential of the two LSU stars in Cincinnati is enormous, and the Bengals gave the world a sneak peek of what we could see in the 2021 season.
