Tim Tebow’s hilariously bad attempt at blocking blew up on Twitter (Video)

Will Tim Tebow work out as a tight end for the Jaguars? His blocking attempt in Jacksonville’s first preseason game says a lot about his chances.

The Tim Tebow experiment at tight end had…interesting results in the Jaguars preseason opener against the Browns.

The former quarterback-turned-baseball-player-turned-tight-end made his debut at his new position on Saturday. It didn’t go well.

The lowlight? A hilarious blocking attempt.

To be fair to Tebow, the block kind of worked. The Browns defender he was trying to stop from making a tackle did not make a tackle.

That’s the nicest thing anyone will say about the block, though. It was ugly as can be. There’s just no getting around it. He looked like a quarterback trying to throw a block.

Don’t underestimate the comedy of Tebow getting up and running headfirst into a teammate, either.

Twitter couldn’t stop laughing at Tim Tebow’s block attempt

NFL Twitter didn’t let Tebow off the hook for looking awful as a blocker.

Tebow did have a chance at a catch. Sort of.

Tavon Austin decided to catch it instead.

There wasn’t much else to say about Tebow’s tight end debut. He didn’t have a catch and didn’t look natural doing the other jobs expected of a player at his position.

Jacksonville released an unofficial depth chart ahead of Saturday’s preseason game with Tebow listed fourth-string alongside two others. It wasn’t a great sign for his chances of making the Jaguars roster for the 2021 season.

Tebow is 33 years old with no prior experience playing tight end. A quarterback by trade, he has never had to catch passes or block defenders in his football career. It shows.

The learning curve needs to be sharp over the coming weeks if he wants to really make an impression.
