Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy tests positive for COVID-19

Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy has tested positive for COVID-19.

A day after his Chicago Bears got humiliated by the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a nationally televised game, Bears head coach Matt Nagy has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Bears released this information on Monday, stating that special teams coordinator Chris Tabor will run any meetings Nagy will not be able to take part in this week. While the Bears do get to play at home in Week 8, they are facing an equally desperate team in the sub-.500 San Francisco 49ers. The loser of this game in Chicago will be in awful shape heading into the November slate.

In a season where seemingly nothing has gone right, Nagy contracting COVID only makes it worse.

Nagy is not the first NFL head coach to test positive for the coronavirus this season, but he may not be the last. We already saw Kliff Kingsbury have to miss a game. Thankfully, his Arizona Cardinals were able to win an impressive one on the road over the Cleveland Browns a few weeks ago to stay perfect. Unfortunately, Nagy’s team is nowhere close to as good as Kingsburgy’s club.

Here is to a speedy recovery for Nagy so the Bears can get their season back on track very soon.
