Former Alabama players, current Dallas Cowboys, cheer on Tide in Cotton Bowl

Former Alabama and current Cowboys players like Amari Cooper and Trevon Diggs didn’t have to travel far to watch the Crimson Tide in the Cotton Bowl.

The Cotton Bowl brought with it some NFL star power as the Alabama Crimson Tide and Cincinnati Bearcats squared off.

Cincinnati had alumnus Travis Kelce turn up along with Chiefs teammates like Patrick Mahomes.

Meanwhile, the Tide had some former players on hand cheering them on from the comfort of their home field as members of the Dallas Cowboys.

Wide receiver Amari Cooper and cornerback Trevon Diggs even got an ovation on the big screen at AT&T Stadium.

Cooper was a unanimous All-American and Biletnikoff Award-winner with Alabama. He joined up in 2012 and went on to set Crimson Tide receiving records. He was drafted by the Raiders in 2015 with the No. 4 pick and ended up with the Cowboys in 2018 via a trade.

Diggs played for Alabama from 2016 to 2019, earning All-SEC honors and helping the Tide win a national championship. The Cowboys drafted him in the second round in 2020. He made the Pro Bowl in his second year with the team.
