Oh my god, Bears insider says team might actually keep Ryan Pace

A Chicago Bears insider has heard from “very good sources” that general manager Ryan Pace is likely to remain with the organization.

The Chicago Bears are coming off an impressive 29-3 victory over a bad New York Giants team. Despite that, the Bears are 6-10 on the year and all attention will be on them regarding whether they keep head coach Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace. For the latter, one insider believes that his job may be safe.

During an appearance on 670 The Score in Chicago, Pro Football Weekly’s Hub Arkash said that he’s heard from “very good sources” that Pace will probably be “remaining with the organization (in some capacity).”

Bears insider believes that Ryan Pace will remain with organization

One can only imagine what the reaction of the Bears fanbase will be if they ultimately retain Pace, whether in the same role or in another position.

Pace has brought to Chicago to be the team’s general manager, after spending 14 years with the New Orleans Saints. Perhaps the move that Pace is most known for is trading a bevy of draft capital to move from the third-overall spot to the No. 2 slot to take a quarterback. With Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson on the board, the Bears selected Mitchell Trubisky. After a promising sophomore season, the Trubisky pick never panned out, as he is currently the backup quarterback for the Buffalo Bills.

Pace did make the huge move at this past year’s NFL Draft, where they moved up from the No. 20 spot to select Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields with the 11th-overall selection.

In regards to Nagy, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reports “the likely outcome” is that the Bears will move on from him. He notes that the search for a new head coach will begin in Week 18 following their game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Bears fans, all you can do is wait until after Week 18 to get a clearer picture regarding the status of both Pace and Nagy.
