Usain Bolt ends Tyreek Hill’s race challenge in 4 words

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill wants to race Usain Bolt, or so he claimed at the NHL All-Star festivities. Bolt put that talk to bed.

Hill and Bolt have been poking each other since last summer about a potential race, as the NFL’s fastest wideout is convinced he could defeat the former Olympic sprinter in a 40-yard dash.

As unlikely as that sounds, it’s safe to say we’d all like to watch it live. Hill’s Chiefs are out of the playoffs after losing to the Bengals in the AFC Championship, while Bolt has been retired since 2017. Can he still run like he used to?

Bolt has nothing to prove — his shelves are lined with Olympic medals and honors. But at the very least there’s some money to be made here.

Tyreek Hill pokes the bear, challenges Usain Bolt

Hill took an interview with ESPN in Las Vegas for the NHL All-Star Game, in which the Chiefs wideout went full Stone Cold Steve Austin, and also challenged Bolt to a race.

“I feel great, baby,” Hill said after his beer shower. “Go Chiefs.”

Bolt responded to this bold claim on social media, showing a still photo of Hill losing to Micah Parsons in the NFL’s Fastest Man Race earlier this week.

While Chiefs fans question whether Hill gave it his all in that race, the tape suggests he’s not even the quickest man in his own league, let alone all of sports. Hill thinks otherwise.

“Usain Bolt got out of the game for a reason, right?” Hill told reporters. “He’s old, he’s washed up, and he can’t see me in 40 yards. 100-yard dash, yes, that’s what he do. But 40-yard dash, according to this, Usain Bolt, you cannot see me.”

For all of our sake, this race needs to happen sooner rather than later.
