Rumors are that Kyler Murray is unhappy with the Arizona Cardinals after their swift playoff exit. If so, these three teams can benefit from the rift.
Based on his body language during the NFC Wild Card round and his recent Instagram scrub, Kyler Murray is sending what seems to be a clear message to the world: he isn’t happy with the Cardinals’ situation right now.
Chris Mortensen claims to have inside knowledge of the situation, saying that Cardinals sources describe Murray as “self-centered” and “immature”, characterizing him as a “finger pointer.”
Despite the drama, the Cardinals reportedly back Murray as their quarterback, with veterans on the team hoping to reach out and bridge the gap between the explosive 24-year-old quarterback and his team.
But if the Cardinals aren’t able to patch things over, there are at least three NFL teams who could benefit from scooping Murray away from Arizona.
3. New York Giants
The New York Giants have officially moved on from the brief Joe Judge era, and New York has retooled its coaching staff in an effort to enliven the Giants offense.
This is a team with the unrealized potential of Saquon Barkley, 2021 free agency pickup like Kenny Golladay, and the pieces to win more than four games in a season. While new Giants head coach Brian Daboll and his team were brought in to fix Daniel Jones, the Giants would be better suited to steal away Murray for their own benefit.
Murray has impressive mobility and playmaking ability, and his powerful arm can test the legs of speedy wideouts like Golladay. Arizona likely wouldn’t want to trade within their conference, but perhaps New York could make an offer they couldn’t refuse.
