2022 NFL Draft: Seattle Seahawks 7-round mock

After going 7-10 last season, the Seattle Seahawks must be smart in the NFL Draft to try and help this team bounce back.

The 2021 campaign was a total nightmare for the Seattle Seahawks, there’s no denying that. Now, general manager John Schneider and head coach Pete Carroll have flushed that completely and they’re focused on 2022.

With the NFL Draft coming in late April, it will be a golden opportunity for the Seahawks to bring in some key pieces. While Seattle doesn’t hold a first-round pick, that doesn’t mean Schneider hasn’t been working overtime evaluating talent. Which players could be making their way to Lumen Field? We take a look in this mock draft.

Seattle Seahawks Mock Draft – Second Round

41

Abraham Lucas

OT Washington State

Seattle will first be on the clock on Day 2 with the No. 41 overall pick. Should the Seahawks end up re-signing D.J. Reed, then cornerback won’t be the focus with this selection: it will be on improving the offensive line. So, how about an in-stater in Abraham Lucas?

Seahawks fans are quite familiar with the Washington State offensive tackle, as he grew up in the area and played his high school ball at Archbishop Murphy in Everett. Lucas ended up having an incredible career with the Cougars, earning All-American honors this past fall.

Lucas is a projected third-round pick, but his time in Pullman really has seen him shoot up draft boards. Checking in at 6-foot-7, 320 pounds, he’s got the ideal frame for an offensive tackle as well. Lucas could step in and make an immediate impact for the line.

It’s no secret that Seattle has struggled protecting Russell Wilson over the years. That’s on the offensive line as a whole, with fans tired of watching Wilson run for his life. Lucas at No. 41 could make a lot of sense for Schneider.
