The Seattle Seahawks have the third-most cap space in the NFL. If they decide against rebuilding and to spend money in free agency, here are five potential targets for them.
The Seattle Seahawks made some franchise-altering moves this week. On Tuesday, March 8, the team traded star quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos and released veteran inside linebacker Bobby Wagner after 10 seasons with the team.
What the Seahawks plan to do remains to be seen. Without Wilson, you would expect the team to begin a rebuild. Yet, the team has over $51 million in cap space to spend. Not only that, but head coach Pete Carroll is 70-years-old, and who knows if he is willing to go through with a full-blown rebuild.
Considering the amount of money they have to work with this offseason, here are five players the team could target. Of course, this is under the caveat that Seattle is still determined to compete in the tough NFC West division in 2022.

Morgan Moses
OT New York Jets
The Seahawks have both of their starting offensive tackles hitting free agency this offseason in Duane Brown and Brandon Shell. Of course, the attention will be given to the top tackle on the open market in Terron Armstead, but given the competition, it may be very difficult to sign him.
So, Seattle pivots to replacing Shell at right tackle with Morgan Moses.
Last offseason, the Jets signed Moses to a one-year, $3.6 million. He was one of New York’s bright spots on the offensive side of the ball, as he allowed just four sacks and received three penalties on 1,022 snaps, per Pro Football Focus.
It would not be entirely shocking that New York opts to re-sign Moses this offseason. However, they do hold the fourth-overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, and could very well select either Evan Neal or Ickem Ekwonu to fill one of the tackles spots at the line of scrimmage.
If the Seahawks want to go for the more affordable option and still get good results, they should target Moses.
