The Green Bay Packers have a lot riding on the 2022 NFL Draft but one Big Board suggests their first pick might not make Aaron Rodgers happy.
The Packers managed to bring back Aaron Rodgers but they need to make some savvy moves to give the quarterback a chance to win another Super Bowl.
How will they do that? The NFL Draft can certainly provide some help, assuming Green Bay uses the No. 22 and No. 28 picks wisely.
The conventional wisdom says the Packers should finally use a first-round selection to get Rodgers a new go-to wide receiver.
However, that’s definitely not a given. Matt Schneidman’s Packers’ specific Big Board includes a bunch of other options for Green Bay.

Schneidman took Dane Brugler’s Big Board and pared it down to just the Packers’ needs. Interestingly, it’s not a wide receiver at the top of the board. It’s Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd.
Would Green Bay even have a chance to draft Lloyd? He’s No. 9 on the main Big Board so in all likelihood they would have to trade up to make that pick. Would they go that far to get a top-tier linebacker? You never know.
Without a trade, the Packers will have to wait quite a while to make their first choice. That could mean missing out on top wide receiver targets like Garrett Wilson, Jameson Williams, Drake London, Chris Olave or Traylon Burks.
In a perfect world, one of those standout pass-catchers will be available in the late stage of the round. Even then, Green Bay could still use their picks on an edge rusher or offensive lineman.
