NFL rumors: Jets could make ‘godfather’ offer for Deebo Samuel

The trade rumors continue to come in for the San Francisco 49ers and superstar wide receiver Deebo Samuel.

So much attention is going to whether or not the Jacksonville Jaguars will take Travon Walker No. 1 or not, but don’t forget that Deebo Samuel could be headed to a new home too. The wideout doesn’t want to keep playing for the San Francisco 49ers, that much has been made clear.

Samuel has been linked to multiple teams, including the New York Jets. According to analyst Tony Pauline, it looks like the Jets are ready to go all-in for Samuel and make San Francisco an offer they won’t be able to say no to.

The Jets desperately want Deebo Samuel in East Rutherford

The Houston Texans have also been mentioned as a possible destination for Samuel, but if Pauline’s sources are on the money here, it could be the Jets who land Samuel. The speedster of course won’t be coming cheap, as New York will have to at minimum put a first-rounder on the table.

Recent reports have suggested the 49ers and John Lynch want two first-round picks for Samuel. If the Jets put that on the table, then it might get things over the line here. The relationship between Samuel and the San Francisco front office doesn’t appear to be fixable.

With that, the front office might feel some extra pressure to trade him, as they won’t want Samuel holding out or anything like that. With this update that the Jets desperately want him too, the wheels could be in motion for a blockbuster trade. Fans should find out by Thursday night what the future has in store for Samuel, but the general feeling is he’ll be making plays for a new squad this fall.
