Tyreek Hill made it abundantly clear that he wanted to remain with the Kansas City Chiefs.
While he since taken his talents to South Beach, new Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill revealed he preferred to stay with the Kansas City Chiefs before he was ultimately traded.
In the lead-up to the launch of his new podcast, It Needed To be Said, Hill discussed this very matter with his agent Drew Rosenhaus and his podcast co-host, Julius Collins. Rosenhaus mentioned it was his client’s preference to stay with the team who took a chance on him, hoping both parties could orchestrate a long-term extension. Hill would back up his agent on this matter.

Hill was a Pro Bowler all six seasons he played for the Chiefs. He earned three First-Team All-Pro nods and a Super Bowl ring during this six-year run. The 28-year-old from South Georgia is on a hall-of-fame trajectory anyways, but any speed bumps playing for the Dolphins could put a massive dent into his legacy. Hill understood all the benefits of playing with Patrick Mahomes.
The good news for Hill is the Dolphins seem to be a team on the come-up. They have a new offensive-minded head coach in Mike McDaniel, as well as a former top prospect at quarterback in Tua Tagovailoa. While he is leaving Mahomes and Andy Reid behind in his new venture, there are far worse places Hill could have been traded to. It will be up to him to make the best of it now.
Ultimately, Hill’s blazing foot speed is the best in the game. It will allow him to have success, regardless of whoever is throwing him the football. If he closes out his 20s with two more years akin to what he did in Kansas City, Hill is going to Canton. Though it will be different for him with the Dolphins, it is a great opportunity for him to show that the Chiefs made a mistake with him.
If Hill and Tagovailoa can develop a strong rapport, the Dolphins should be a playoff in the AFC.
