Chicago Bears wide receiver David Moore was arrested on drug and weapons charges on July 4 in Gainesville, Florida. He’s the third new Bears addition to be arrested this offseason.
Chicago’s new front office has had some bad luck this offseason as it pertains to adding new talent.
Moore, who was signed in hopes of giving Justin Fields another weapon on the outside, has been arrested in Florida. He played for the Seahawks from 2017-20 and spent last year with the Broncos and Packers.
The 27-year-old was released from prison on $5,000 bond.

Upon being signed, Moore seemed excited to be a Chicago Bear, calling it ‘a blessing’.
“It’s just a blessing,” Moore said. “I’ve been at the house just hoping, waiting on a call, just an opportunity to get a chance to play football. The week was going great and I had high hopes, and then after practice they told me to wait around, that they were going to sign me.”
Moore is the cousin of former Chicago running back James Allen, who rushed for 1,978 yards and four touchdowns on 515 carries while appearing in 50 games with the team.
As for the Bears front office, this is not a good sign. All three players arrested this offseason were new additions, identified by the front office as positive influences on their football team.
