Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Eli Apple got the last laugh against the New Orleans Saints fanbase in Week 6.
There is no love lost between the New Orleans Saints fanbase and Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Eli Apple. Earlier this year, Apple took to Twitter to say he didn’t know which fanbase he hated more between the Saints and the New York Giants. Apple played for the Saints from 2018-19. Then, he decided to express his displeasure with the city of New Orleans. Let’s just say that the Saints faithful did not forget those words.
Apple got the last laugh, as the Bengals defeated the Saints 30-26. He played a role in clinching the victory late in the fourth quarter.
Let’s just say Apple was quick to take to Twitter for his victory lap, tweeting out “Who Dey > Who Dat.”

Eli Apple has message for Saints fans after Bengals win
As mentioned earlier, Apple held a poll over who had the worst fanbase between the Saints and Giants. Then, he decided to go after New Orleans, calling it “the dirtiest smelliest city and has the worst food ever.
At the time of these tweets, Apple was part of the Bengals team that went on a run to Super Bowl 56. They defeated the Las Vegas Raiders, Tennessee Titans, and Kansas City Chiefs to make it to the big game, and Apple made some pivotal plays in those games to help the team win.
The Saints fanbase did get payback after Apple and the Bengals lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl, where he surrendered the game-winning touchdown reception to Cooper Kupp.
The Bengals trailed the Saints for most of the game, but they were able to pull ahead when it mattered the most. Down 26-21 in the fourth quarter, the Bengals took the lead following a 52-yard field goal from Evan McPherson with under four minutes remaining, and a 60-yard catch-and-run touchdown by wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase to take the 30-26 lead late with just under two minutes remaining in regulation.
Apple recorded six total tackles and a tackle for loss in the Week 6 contest.
In a head-to-head meeting, Apple and the Bengals were victorious over the Saints, who now fall to 2-4 on the season.
