Chiefs expose 49ers as frauds in Week 7 blowout: Best memes and tweets

The Kansas City Chiefs took the San Francisco 49ers to the woodshed in Week 7’s blowout.

The No. 1 defense in the league was no match for the Kansas City Chiefs offense, as Patrick Mahomes and the boys ran roughshod on Kyle Shanahan, Christian McCaffrey and the rest of the San Francisco 49ers.

Kansas City improved to 5-2 on the season, while San Francisco dropped to a disastrous 3-4. While the Chiefs spotted the 49ers 10 points early in the game, they clobbered them as it went along, winning decisively in Santa Clara by the tune of 44-23. This was one of those games where the AFC asserted its dominance over the inferior NFC. San Francisco might have some problems…

While Mahomes and company will do that to most defenses it goes up against, Sunday afternoon was a red flag for those looking to potentially hiring DeMeco Ryans as a head coach this offseason. It may happen, but San Francisco is a sub-.500 team and has a break, but won’t bend defense. And therein lies the biggest issue with the 49ers currently: Major coaching staff attrition.

Two years ago, Shanahan lost defensive coordinator Robert Sales to the New York Jets job. This past offseason, offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel left for the Miami Dolphins. While Shanahan still has a reputation as a wunderkind as an offensive mind, his 49ers teams are way too inconsistent. They cannot string together one good year after another for the life of them, guys!

As for the Chiefs, it feels like a collision course is inevitable with the winner of Kansas City vs. the Buffalo Bills in January will get to Glendale out of the AFC. Although the Cincinnati Bengals are the defending AFC champions, they are just now getting their feet back under them after experiencing a Super Bowl hangover. In the meantime, look for the AFC’s best to be better than the NFC’s best.

Ultimately, the Chiefs are on a shortlist of teams who can get to and realistically win the Super Bowl. They are probably going to drop a few more games this season, but they will still win around 12 games and be right where they need to be come January. As for San Francisco, how sure are we the 49ers are even a wild card team? Yes, the NFC is horrid, but the 49ers are massively overrated.

For now, Chiefs Kingdom can say it owns the Bay Area for the time being with this road victory.
