Best NFL prop bets today (Fade Skylar Thompson, Back Ja’Marr Chase)

Wild Card Weekend in the NFL has not disappointed, with the Jacksonville Jaguars stealing the show, coming back from a huge deficit to shock the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday night.

Now, we have three games to dive into on Sunday, and I’m looking to place some prop bets on the action.

Here’s my favorite play for each game:

Best NFL prop bets today

  • Dalvin Cook OVER 69.5 Rushing Yards
  • Skylar Thompson UNDER 189.5 Passing Yards
  • Ja’Marr Chase Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Dalvin Cook OVER 69.5 Rushing Yards

The last few weeks have not been great for Dalvin Cook, as he’s racked up just 64 rushing yards on 20 carries, but he’s due for a bounce back against the New York Giants.

The Minnesota Vikings running back ran for 64 yards on just 14 carries against New York earlier this season, and he should be an even bigger part of the game plan in the playoffs.

New York allows the second most yards per carry in the NFL this season (5.2), so chunk gains should be there for Cook and the Vikings.

Skylar Thompson UNDER 189.5 Passing Yards

Rookie seventh-round pick Skylar Thompson is getting the start for the Miami Dolphins against the Buffalo Bills on Wild Card Weekend, and I think his passing yards prop is way too inflated in this game.

The Dolphins are 13.5-point underdogs in this matchup, and that would signal a blowout, which tells me that Thompson is struggling mightily.

Even if the Dolphins do keep this close, I’d expect it to be with their running game.

Thompson has played two games this season where he’s played 99 percent or more of the snaps, and he’s failed to clear this line in both games, throwing for 166 and 152 yards.

He threw over 30 passes in both of those games. So, you’re telling me he’s going to clear this in his first playoff game against one of the best teams in the NFL?

I’m not buying it.

Ja’Marr Chase Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Cincinnati Bengals star Ja’Marr Chase missed time this season with a hip injury, but he hasn’t missed a beat since returning to the lineup.

Chase has scored in three of his last four games, picking up at least seven catches and 60 yards in each of those games.

Joe Burrow is going to pepper Chase with targets, and the star wideout torched Baltimore for eight catches, 86 yards and a score in Week 18.

At plus odds, he’s worth a bet to find the end zone on Wild Card Weekend.
