Dez Bryant predicts apocalyptic scenario for Odell Beckham Jr., DeAndre Hopkins

Odell Beckham Jr. and DeAndre Hopkins, two of the most talented readily available wideouts, could get adopted by the reigning Super Bowl champs this offseason.

If multiple teams bowing out of the Lamar Jackson race could be considered collusion, letting the Kansas City Chiefs sign both Odell Beckham Jr. and DeAndre Hopkins has got to be illegal. It’s just not fair.

Dez Bryant predicted the apocalyptic scenario in which the Chiefs would somehow bring on OBJ and Hopkins by the end of the offseason.

One of them joining the Chiefs already feels like a cheat mode. Imagine Patrick Mahomes having Beckham as a deep threat to stretch out the Chiefs’ passing attack, or having Hopkins’ blazing speed on the sidelines, which would make Kansas City forget all about Tyreek Hill.

For the sake of equality in the league, OBJ and D-Hop going to an AFC powerhouse like the Chiefs shouldn’t happen, but….never say never.

Chiefs can blow up the league by signing Odell Beckham Jr. and DeAndre Hopkins

Hopkins was first rumored to join the Chiefs when one NFL insider hinted that the Super Bowl champs were “the team to watch” for a potential Hopkins trade. Kansas City wouldn’t have to give up much for him, maybe just a second-rounder and a conditional pick; after the Brandin Cooks trade, Hopkins’ asking price may even have lowered.

OBJ’s future is slightly foggier since the star wideout is reportedly asking for $20 million a year, an inflated salary considering Beckham hasn’t played since 2021 and is at high risk for re-injury.

Both Hopkins and Beckham admittedly pose as liabilities given their ages and injury history, and the Chiefs don’t need more of those with Kadarius Toney already on their roster.

Yet if they do want to play musical chairs with their injury-prone wide receivers, it wouldn’t be difficult to imagine Andy Reid and Matt Nagy drawing up some crazy plays for an offense that includes Travis Kelce, Hopkins, and Beckham. Every down would be like “Ring around the Rosie” on steroids.

Chiefs fans can dream.
