Here is why Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter is not taking top-30 visits from teams picking outside of the top 10 in the 2023 NFL Draft.
As I have said the entire time throughout the NFL Draft process, just pick Jalen Carter and figure the rest of it out later.
I feel like I’m taking crazy pills bloodying up my skull like I’m the late Erk Russell trying to prove a point in all this. Ask yourself this: Do you want Carter playing for you or against you? Do you want the next Ndamukong Suh suiting up for your favorite NFL franchise or donning the black hat for your bitter rival? This does not have to be that hard. We are making a mountain out of a mole hill!
And if you needed any more proof as to why Carter is 100 percent going to be a top-10 pick this spring, look no further than what Daniel Jeremiah of The NFL Network had to say about it on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday afternoon. He anticipates his former employer in the Philadelphia Eagles picking at No. 10 as the team that will absolutely stop his fall down the NFL draft board.
“The Eagles would be my educated guess on why Jalen Carter isn’t taking meetings outside of the top ten.”
This is not just intel in the building, but rather two of Carter’s former college teammates are second-year pros on the Eagles defense in defensive tackle Jordan Davis and linebacker Jordan Davis. I want to gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon rather than dealing with the morons who cannot comprehend this. Davis and Dean will vouch for him and Carter will go No. 10 to the Eagles.
If he goes to the Birds at No. 10, just crown the 2023 Eagles as Super Bowl 58 champions already.

While I do find Carter declining top 30 visits from teams picking outside of the top 10 to be rather off-putting, I do get it in the general sense. He and his agent Drew Rosenhaus know Carter is not falling past the Eagles at No. 10. He may go as high as No. 5 to the Seattle Seahawks, maybe even No. 3 to the Arizona Cardinals for all we know. However, Carter fits in nicely into the No. 5-10 slot.
I think you could argue for every team picking between No. 5 and No. 10 to potentially take Carter. The Las Vegas Raiders picking at No. 7 feel like the least likely, followed up by my hometown Atlanta Falcons picking at No. 8 because of their off-putting fake moral high horse they sit on that doesn’t go anywhere. You were in the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes, so lose me with that excuse!
But outside of Seattle, Carter would do very well as a member of the Detroit Lions picking at No. 6, the Chicago Bears picking at No. 9 and the Eagles picking at No. 10. He is visiting with Chicago and Philadelphia. While I trust Chicago’s football culture about as far as I think I can throw it, I do really like what Dan Campbell, Brad Holmes and the Lions are building in the fricking Motor City, man.
In truth, I think between Seattle, Detroit, Chicago and Philadelphia, one of them will assume the risk of putting Carter on their team. As for the rest of the NFC, their offensive lines will be in shambles. I cannot wait to watch Carter rip through the Falcons’ offensive line like Blake Bortles ripping through a pack of Camels while working construction and living the best Floridian dream.
If you are a Dallas Cowboys fan, you are allowed to cry at the stupidity of him falling to the Eagles.
